Hey I was wondering if there's any people with band recommendations for me? I'm from Cumbria and none of my friends like the same music as me so I was hoping to maybe make some friends who like the same kinda music as well I'm Into all sorts of music but the stuff nobody else seems to like are Lynyrd Skynyrd, VanZant, Guns N' Roses, New Guns N'Roses , DJ ashba (Hes a guitarist his initials are DJ so hes not a DJ) I'm into Mumford and sons, I've just started listening to a bit of Blackfoot and The Outlaws, I'm into a bit of Taylor swift as well, shes not rock but I'm into allot of acoustic music so any people I should listen to id love suggestions!

Hi PaddyD_123, welcome aboard! Sorry for the late reply, the forum was in maintenance mode and no new messages could be posted.

@ all: Any recommendations for Paddy?

Hey Paddy, I don't know how old you are but I started listening to music that was different from most of the other folks I knew when I was still at school, and that was when my music collection started. As that was a long, long time ago (!!) I noew have a rather large music collection (mostly on CD, but I still have over 1500 vinyl albums).

All of this is not exactly answer to your question, I know, but if you read Fireworks magazine and visit here, and read the reviews that are published, you will get a good idea about other bands that could be recommended. I would also suggest that you listen to the internet radio station ARfm, which is where Steve Price who does our Rocktopia podcast can be found every Saturday and Sunday night. You will also find shows that focus on some of your other favourites such as those "southern" rock bands you have mentioned.

Finally, I recommend trying to get to some gigs, if you have not been in the habit of doing so. Obviously, Cumbria is a little off the beaten track for gigs, but if you can travel there are some good venues not too far away.

All the best,

Paul
