Twelve gigantic towers of hardened rhythms, tough vocals and precise guitar licks that amaze.
Perhaps the longest and most determined Heavy Metal power trio ever, Anvil are about to surprise Metallers all over the globe! Since 1978 – yes, that's nineteen and seventy-eight – Steve "Lips" Kudlow and his music generals have been rocking hardcore! They also show no sign of letting up.
'Pounding The Pavement' consists of twelve slices of freshly-melted Hard Rock that are finished off with a glossy Metal polish! Twelve gigantic towers of hardened rhythms, tough vocals and precise guitar licks that amaze.
Now one might think that after this many years in the trenches, Anvil may slip into glide... just once! However, the answer to that is no, these three seem to constantly push their own envelope, coming up with new twists to this most powerful style of music.
Anvil – consisting of Kudlow, drummer Robb "Robbo" Reiner and bassist Chris Robertson – live, breathe and bleed hard molten Metal, and every number on this disc is a living testament to this fact! Songs such as 'Smash Your Face', 'Ego' and the title cut capture a band that is in top form; one that tilts the energy bar just a bit higher!
Some of the songs are somewhat autobiographical in that they reflect the band's struggles through the years. Even the title of this release, 'Pounding The Pavement', pretty much sums up Anvil's work ethic. They just go out and pound that pavement, getting their musical message and mission out there! They don't relent and nor does the music!
Anvil are a complete and rock-solid group and this disc proves that time and time again!
