Not really sing-a-long stuff, though it is constructed and performed with more thought than your run-of-the-mill, head down, foot on the monitor Metal.

Los Angeles-based Heaven Below were formed in 2007 by Patrick Kennison (vocals/guitar) and have so far released two albums, 'Countdown To Devil' (2009) and 'Falling From Zero' (2012). The current line-up also includes Lucas Kanopa (guitar), John Younger (bass) and Shad Wilhelm (drums) and in 2015 they recorded a version of Rush's 'Subdivisions' that gained some notoriety due to the input of William Shatner?!

'Good Morning Apocalypse' bridges a number of musical styles and genres from Heavy/Power Metal through to Classic/Modern Rock, coming across like My Chemical Romance doing Iron Maiden doing Avenged Sevenfold doing DragonForce! It's a concept that has been four years in the making and there are a number of special guests, each adding their own identity to give the material more variety. Jason McMaster (Dangerous Toys) joins the band for the opening 'Nefarious Angels' and this track sets the tone for the eleven that follow. 'Devilina And The Damage Done' is the standout for me, the commercial structure and presentation means it has an immediate impact and the addition of Kobra Paige's voice works nicely against Kennison's.

Though the lyrical themes are of a tortured nature, the vocal delivery is clean throughout and the songs are high energy and technically well executed. 'Killing The Deadman' is a galloping monster of a song, full of quick-fire riffs and double-kick drumming, whilst 'Running Under Satan's Hand' and 'Death Battalion' are the closest to straight ahead Rock. The former includes a cameo from Lita Ford and the latter like a more aggressive version of Sum 41. 'Black Sunrise/War Of The Gods' is a chest-beating anthem featuring the unmistakable vocals of Udo Dirkschneider, it brings the album to a close along with 'Among The Wolves/Worldwide Suicide' and 'I Would Do It All Again/Burials At Sunset'. They are like three mini epics; the time changes, choral arrangements and an Operatic Soprano enhance the atmospherics to the point of being over the top... but not quite.

Essentially 'Good Morning Apocalypse' is not really sing-a-long stuff, though it is constructed and performed with more thought than your run-of-the-mill, head down, foot on the monitor Metal.
