An album for anyone who wants a hefty dose of energetic, infectious Sleaze with a sophisticated Metal edge.

The Swedish quartet Sister is back with their third album, punching a hole into the autumn releases with a fiery mix of Punk, Glam Rock and Metal. It's also worth noting, for those interested, that Martin Sweet (formerly guitarist of Crashdïet) has joined the line-up as bass player, having previously produced all of Sister's released music.

Halloween is just about the right festival for 'Destination Dust' to celebrate; militaristic drums march behind solid riffs and Jamie Anderson's wonderfully atmospheric vocals. 'Carved In Stone' is heavier but the Metal elements, especially Anderson's vocals, always give way to Glam Punk bursts which keep the tracks anthemic and a little full of that teenage fuel – angst.

There are a few mediocre tracks dotted about – 'Lost In Line', 'Trail Of Destruction', 'Liberation Song' and 'Endangered Species' – that are all solidly performed and written but fail to stand out amidst the headlong rush of angry genres.

'Unbeliever' has a particularly anthemic chorus, pulsating with layered backing vocals in the Glam Metal style but with added edge from Anderson's more Metalcore type vocals. 'Dead Man's Dirt' was one of the gems in the good quality dirt, it creeps up on you but then bursts out with a really Funky, catchy riff while Tim Tweak waltzes rough-edged guitar over the top; it's infectious. 'Piece Of Shame' injects some fun in a fast-paced party piece that mixes a commercial chorus with Metal screams and heavy guitar work.

Sister has definitely stayed with the Metal elements of their earlier work but this album is made more enjoyable by the fact that it isn't overly heavy on texture or relentless sound with more being made of the catchy riffs and anthemic choruses. This is an album for anyone who wants a hefty dose of energetic, infectious Sleaze with a sophisticated Metal edge.
