There's some dangerous, untamed and unkempt rocking to be had here.

This is a cocktail of fuzzy Alt Metal and sixties/seventies counter-culture Rock from this Wakefield band who've laid down a very solid debut. Iggy Pop and The Stooges is one of the key influences that can be heard throughout. That Proto-Punk vibe powers singer Jake Coxon's performance. If his vocals don't remind you of The Stooges front-man, his bare-chested, manic energy will, especially on opener 'Demon'. It's the kind of music cavemen would have made if they'd had access to electric guitars. The Doors influence pulses through 'Power Of Addiction' with its throbbing bass line, organ stabs and Coxon's dark poetry. 'Morally High' has a low down, dirty bluesy riff that Billy Gibbons would be proud of. 'Rag And Bone Man' is more modern sounding with a Clutch-like chuggary (not a word, but you know what I mean) informing the riffing on the end of the track. This particular rag and bone man is a sleazy, almost seedy character that makes 'Steptoe And Son' look like gentlemen.

There's a paranoid Psychedelic edge to a lot of the grooves on this release, with 'My Rock And Roll' coming across like a Punk version of the great UK Blues act Pearl Handed Revolver. 'Don't Get Caught (I Am The Lotus)' has a more traditional Metal riff with some good old-school drumming giving you the sense this is a band who will create a hell of a noise live. The tough rocking 'Secret Cigarette' even has a touch of Guns 'N' Roses, but grubbier and without any of the LA sheen. On the hard livin' Rock 'n' Roll of closer 'Mad Dog', Coxon proves he is indeed a mad dog, sounding both rabid and wounded. Just listening to his voice makes you feel you need to go and have a good wash afterwards.

A melting pot of sixties cool, seventies US Punk, eighties Metal and modern Alt Metal, there's some dangerous, untamed and unkempt rocking to be had here.
