There isn't much to say other than if you like badly written, badly played, self-indulgent blues then this is the album for you.
Cattail Brew are an Anglo-American Band fronted by Ex-Waysted singer Finn Muir and some other men. Once upon a time I liked Muir as a singer, after listening to this, I am undecided whether he has lost his mojo or that the songs he has been challenged to sing over are so bad it has tainted his ability.
'It's A Bit Difficult Really' as a title is close, but they missed the 'To Listen To' at the end of it. This is quite possibly on of the worst albums I've heard for many years, its "attempt" at Southern Rock/Blues fails miserably. This is basically a pub band of middle aged men who have too much disposable income going into a studio with one member who was famous-ish once. The playing is lacklustre, the songs are miserable and the whole thing lacks any kind of excitement.
From the opening out of time, out of key guitar solo to the end this album has the listenability of a horse being chainsawed to death. Imagine that slow drill at the dentists, the one that gets stuck in your molar, yeah that bastard, well it's that without the tunes. FM and Thunder show that middle age is no barrier to good music played well, unfortunately Cattail Brew are not either.
I've done many things in my life that can be classed as time wasted, listening to this is all of them put together and tripled. There isn't much to say other than if you like badly written, badly played, self-indulgent blues then this is the album for you.
