This is an album full of energy, and while not offering anything particularly new or innovative it's an enjoyable listen nonetheless.

Kickstarter Ritual are a power trio from Italy who describe themselves as a Stoner influenced Rock band. 'Ready To Take A Ride', recorded in 2017, is their first full album following on from their 'Black Mama' EP released in 2014. The band's current line up comprises: Gaby Facchini (bass), Juliusz Loranzi (guitar) and Davide Fortunati (drums/vocals).

'Ready ...' has a very raw sound to it, which makes the album sound almost like it were live. The album itself wouldn't have been out of place in the early eighties during the NWOBHM, with its Punk influenced Rock style - think Motörhead meets the first Iron Maiden album. The album of eleven tracks opens with 'Cooperate', a fast rocker with a good catchy riff that the band has been playing live for a year or so prior the release – check out the video on YouTube. 'Messin Around' opens with a nice repeating riff that builds till the verse starts.

'Too Old' opens with a thumping bass riff prior to the introduction of drums and guitar. 'Dirty Old Town' leads with a drum intro and a restrained vocal before gathering pace and rocking out. 'Nanananana', 'The Man On The Hawling Machine' and 'Get It On' follow along in a similar vein. 'Hazy Days' is an acoustic singalong track that slows things down a bit, and shows that the guys don't have to be flat out all the time.

'The Cities Are Burning (With Rock 'N' Roll)' is another fast-paced rocker that would make a great show closer. 'Kiss My Gun' fairly thunders along, with its Green Day-like main riff. The album concludes with the title track 'Ready To Take A Ride', which is the most structured song on offer – even playing out with a grand piano solo.

This is an album full of energy, and while not offering anything particularly new or innovative it's an enjoyable listen nonetheless. The album is full of fast-paced, riff-laden tracks that even manage to inject some melody. Highlights from this one would be 'The Cities Are Burning (With Rock 'N' Roll)', 'Messin' Around' and 'Ready To Take A Ride'.
