This is the way this type of music should be heard.

Now here's something worth getting hold of. Rush's 'Moving Pictures' album is classed, by many of their fans, as one of the band's finest. Featuring classic tracks such as 'Red Barchetta,' 'Limelight,' 'The Camera Eye,' 'YYZ' and 'Witch Hunt,' many of these tracks still feature heavily in the band's live set, and have always stood out as powerful statements of a band probably at their peak at the time. Now, imagine those strong and powerful themes thundering out at you in 5:1 Surround Sound, which is featured on the DVD A disc.

The CD part of this package doesn't really offer anything new here, apart form the stereo re-mix, and if you have the choice of stereo or 5:1, what are you going to pick? And if you don't have 5:1, why would you buy this anyway? The DVD has the added extras of music videos, (of course), with the band 'recording' 'Tom Sawyer,' 'Vital Signs' and 'Limelight' in the studio, with live snippets cut into the latter, a photo gallery and lyrics on your screen, should you need them, as the songs are playing. (Actually there is only half the lyrics to each song, unless I'm being stupid and missing something here). So the extras are really just a bit of frippery, and you can take it or leave it, but they have been seen many times before.

But as I said, the main reason for purchasing this is to get those classic tracks thundering at you from all sides, and this is the way this type of music should be heard. Let us just hope that more classic albums get the same treatment.
