Outstanding musicianship, powerful production values and some stunning songs.

Andy B. Franck and the Brainstorm boys are back with a new album entitled ‘On The Spur Of The Moment’. As many of you will know over the past few years this German based melodic power metal act have been turning out what can only be described as a slew of metal masterpieces. You only have to take a listen to either ‘Memorial Roots’, ‘Liquid Monster’ or ‘Downburst’ to see what I mean. With ‘On The Spur Of The Moment’ Brainstorm have continued this high quality and once again the band have produced another highly melodic yet also very heavy set of songs, that show just what a force in the metal world they should be.

On ‘OTSOTM’ riffs abound and these are complimented by some wonderful bass and drums, which are then joined with that distinct vocal roar of Franck’s, this all goes together to make one hell of a metal album. Oh, and the songs ain’t half bad either! ‘In The Blink Of An Eye’, ‘In These Walls’, ‘Temple Of Stone’, ‘Where Your Actions Lead You To Live’ and ‘A life On Hold’ are all fast-paced metallic anthems that leave you gasping for breath, though for me it is on the slower tracks where the magic of this band really comes to the fore. ‘In These Walls’, ‘Still Insane’ and’No Sinner - No Saint’ prove that you can be loud and as heavy as hell, yet still have massive bites of melody running through you music.

Brainstorm has once again come up with the goods, with outstanding musicianship, powerful production values and some stunning songs. So ‘On The Spur Of The Moment’ can proudly hold its head high, against any of the bands previous albums. Simply put - their best yet, in my opinion…
