This five piece hail from Texas USA, and state that this release is for fans of Foreigner and Bad Company although after a couple of plays it was evident that their style is somewhat heavier and somewhat more enjoyable. Fronted by Stacey Humphries, aka “Big Daddy” to his fans, not only does he possess a good set of pipes but the band possess a great set of songs with “Roller coaster” and “Torn” being the best of the bunch. I get the impression that Seventh Rize couldn’t care less about fashions and trends with “Quicken” having a heavier sounding Lynryd Skynryd feel to it and an arse shredding guitar solo just for good measure. This album slowly grows on you and proves when it comes to good old fashioned rock music the Yanks have it down to a fine art. Apparently their first album has just got a UK reissue and I am not surprised as to these ears “Full Moon” shows that the band know how to bang out a decent tune.
