British Metal Punks F*ckshovel release their debut album in February

Irrepressible Brit Metal Punks ‘Fuckshovel’ release their full length debut album ‘This Is What We Are’, on Monday 18th February, and it’s packed to the rafters with a hefty collection of brawling motor-rock that will melt your face off!
“An unrelenting mass of festering dragster groove primed with the DNA of old school Discharge disfigured and dispatched with the manic face down aggression of 'Hotrod'-era Ministry being pummelled by Anthrax and spiked with crowd pleasing terrace styled choruses.”
Fuckshovel were spawned in the backstreets of London town back in 2005 after a night of drunken debauchery spurred on by a Velvet Revolver show. The unruly quartet wanted to forge a fresh and exciting band that would encompass their collective background which includes stints with Cradle of Filth, Decimator, Basement Jaxx, Plan B, and remnants of Phil Lynott’s Grand Slam. After countless rehearsing and local gigging, the four-piece finally managed to snare a sound that boasts a stunning concoction of old school metal melded with the attitude and drive of punk rock.
The fiery foursome soon began to notch up high profile shows, and after a series of successful supports with the likes of Fucked Up, Jaguar Love, and Innerpartysystem, they were invited to showcase material at SXSW in Texas; the band were an instant success lapping up radio coverage and acclaim in the industry. Upon returning to the UK, further shows continued with LA punk legends The Germs and the Sex Pistols’ Glen Matlock before the band headed off into the studio to put down their first single ‘Long Time Dead’. The single gained critical praise and received widespread radio airplay on XFM’s Rock Show and the BBC Radio 6 Rock Show, hosted by Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson. The accompanying video was play-listed by MTV’s Headbangers Ball and was also included in their Best Of Year show.
The Londoners then pressed on and commenced work on their debut album ‘This Is What We Are’. Recorded in the legendary Assault & Battery 2 Studios in London, with producer Rohan Onraet, the band laid down eleven prime cuts of metallic-fused punk and they are now geared for the album’s national release this February, complete with artwork by Jamie Reid. The record immediately sparks the synapses with the opening onslaught of ‘Germs Of Empire’ which attacks the senses with shredding riffs and rampant energy. The metallic punk of their past single ‘Long Time Dead’’ is an absolute ravenous beast, while their new video single ‘Schizophonic’ playfully sneers at you with a pounding bass line and fist pummelling shout-outs. There’s little doubt that the band have chiselled out an album that is sure to see them flourish in 2013. The assiduous posse will also take the record on the road; check out the band’s Facebook for updated tour dates and prepare yourself for some sweat-drenched live action!
