A lack of direction makes the album distinctly average and not great.

John Mamone has come forth with a brand new album this year 'Order And Chaos', challenging himself to find the musical edge he has been looking for. He performs all the essentials on the new record, rhythm guitar, bass, keyboards, lead and backing vocals. The other members of the project are Mike Cotton on drums, along with both Kelly Kereliuk and Lee Nedich on lead guitar.

'Order And Chaos' is rather a homogeneous expectation for the melody and guitar work, with analogous keys throughout the album. Mamone is artful in creating a state of feeling within his music, profusely using layers to create the sense of "chaos" which is very clear within 'Madness' and the title track. 'Magnus Tempestas' starts to the draw the heavier side of the album, introducing double kick drumming. There is an accelerating feel to the rhythm, with a more action attacking solo.

Mamone uses soft and light tones that flow through the album, evidently through vocal and keyboard harmonies; however he has contrasting dynamics from song to song, because there is a concoction of three musical styles in evidence: hard-rock, progressive rock and metal, so that the ambiance of the album can come across as somewhat disjointed. A different backing vocalist could be beneficial by bringing diversity in both tonality and mobility.

'Heaven's Sake' becomes classically acquainted with progressive rock and provides the album with an instrumental break, taking away drums and using the craft-work of only classic guitar and keyboards. The drive of the album is 'Gimme More Bullets' – the finale – where Mamone takes over with more eccentric guitar licks and vocal breaks, infusing the song with more of a catchy melody. Cotton induces more personality with his quirky drum fills, a piece that deserves to be an enthralling opener to 'Order And Chaos'.

The lack of direction within the album can be unsettling for the listener and it is this fact that makes the album distinctly average and not great.
