Anyone who enjoyed the debut should find plenty to like here.

The Peckham Cowboys have resurfaced a few years after their 2011 debut 'Flog It!' celebrated all that is Gutter Rock. Vocalist Marc Eden and guitarist Dale Hodgkinson are now joined by Timo Kaltio (Hanoi Rocks) and Nigel Mogg (Quireboys) amongst others to bring you '10 Tales From The Gin Palace'.

The first thing you notice about TPC is that initially they are rather similar to The Quireboys. Opening duo 'Not Guilty' and 'Bromley Girls' sound like the Q's got locked in a recording studio with a crate of whiskey and weren't allowed out until they'd chucked out a couple of tracks. Afterwards they go a bit Reggae with the catchy 'The Debt Collector', and slow down almost to a full stop with the dull 'Don't Damn The Hypnotist'.

This is the start of a very mediocre mid section with the messy 'Quarantine' and dirgy 'Poor Boy Blues' failing to impress at all. Things do pick up towards the end with 'You're Only In It For The Money', calling to mind some of the better works from the Rolling Stones, and 'She Was Sweet On Me' returning to Quireboys territory. My favourite track, 'Cut It Out' precedes the lively closer 'Knocked Senseless' and they do the trick of making you want to go back to the beginning again.

So what we have is an album of thirds and whilst the two good thirds aren't anything magical they have a real rough beauty to them. The middle section is, sadly, nothing to write home about but anyone who enjoyed the debut should find plenty to like here.
