Buy this... now... you'll love it.

You know what's cool as hell? You get a text from a friend that says; "Franco, just heard this band called Rothchylde. Buy it... now... you'll love it." So I did and someone remind me to buy this friend the biggest steak and beer dinner I can as thanks, for was he ever right. This is great stuff; it's heavy and nasty, full of loud guitars (always the best kind), with a straightforward approach to playing that never gets old.

Imagine the Hard Rock of Velvet Revolver, the guitars of Cheap Trick and the "I don't care" attitude of the outstanding Devil's Train, and you have Rothchylde. Their music is infectious as hell and all that it can be, put together by a group of musicians who seem more intent on just having a great time with the simple pleasure of playing music than selling millions of units. From 'Going Down Rocking' comes the lyrics "when it comes my turn, and I know I soon will be dead, I hope I'm playing Rock 'n' Roll, and banging my head...I'm going down rocking." Of course it's to be expected that the boys of Rothchylde would sell their souls for a chance at the big time, but one can feel the love this band has for playing music and that my music loving friends is what makes a great band.

Bang your head and enjoy the heavy drums of the spiteful 'KKK, Kill You', (which talks about the breakup of a relationship), and the melodic 'Wasteland'. The lyrics of 'Calling All Rockers' scream the band's message loud and clear; "we don't care if you are rich, or care if you're poor, if you love to bang your head, you love to scream and shout, wave your arms around... put on your headphones and crank it up...we're calling all rockers." That's exactly what we as fans want. We just want to rock. Other notable entries include Rothchylde's cover of Fastway's 'Say What You Will' and 'Road Rage' which is funny as hell. 'All About The Money' will certainly make you think while 'Devil's Queen' talks about the "girl who wants to show it off."

A similarity to Scott Weiland can be made when hearing Rothchylde's front man Shark Snarlisle, but what is important is the great music this band has created. Produced by Hydrogen guitarist Jeff Westlake, care was made to create a sound that just sounds really good. It comes down to this and it can't be said more emphatically. I pass on to you the same message that was sent to me. Buy this... now... you'll love it. The boys of Rothchylde have come up with a winner here.
