As Power Metal albums go, this one is excellent.

(Bloodbound: A term that originates from the dark ages when men would make an oath to each other called a "Blood Oath" where they would cut their hands and then mix their blood. Each man then carries the other's blood, linking the two, as blood brothers. A bloodbound can never be broken and will follow you into the afterlife and beyond...)

The Metal juggernaut that is Bloodbound returns with album number six and if I just said that it was another in a long line of powerful anthemic Heavy Power Metal albums, then that would just be both rude and wrong. Bloodbound might play a form of Metal you've heard before, but what they also do is excel at it.

Over the eleven songs spread over the album, you will never find a dull moment. Instead you'll discover yourself wanting to throw up the devil horns and grab that tennis racket from out of the cupboard so you can join in with the band with a bit of air guitar mayhem. And while you're doing all this, you'll find that you have a big grin of your face as you do so.

'Satanic Panic' sets things in motion and although it might be a daft (in a good way) title for a song, it Rocks and long before it ends you will find that you can sing the chorus as well as the band does. Then what follows over the next ten songs, is a master class in how to write, perform and sing METAL! So I challenge you all to check out 'Nightmares From The Grave' with its Celtic riffs and children's choir (which helps to lift this song to new heights), the memorable and hook laden 'We Raise The Dead' where again the chorus is contagious and tears at your throat trying to get you to sing-a- long with it, 'Blood Of My Blood' which is like being hit in the face by a runaway express train, the incendiary 'When The Kingdoms Will Fall' or the closing attack of 'Seven Hells' and 'When All Lights Fail' and then tell me that you haven't enjoyed the last forty odd minutes of Bloodbound's music.

So messers Patrik Johansson, Tomas Olsson, Fredrik Bergh, Pelle Ã…kerlind, Henrik Olsson and Anders Broman, please take a bow because as Power Metal albums go, this one is excellent. It's also one that has all the ticks, in all the right boxes and it will be played many times at Johnson towers and at such a volume that the neighbours will all come round to complain (and probably be ignored when they do).
