This Palace has impressive rugs and a roaring fire ... make yourself comfortable.

It's almost out of this world. And if you like the classic influence of Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and the like, I wager you will think that too. This is Antipodean awesomeness and it has been endorsed by none other than Airbourne's Joel O'Keefe, so who are we to argue?

For once, the press bio is correct when it states that they range from short Funkers to sweeping, Black Sabbath, seven minuters; although they have only been around for three years, time spent with Airbourne and The Tea Party (among others) touring The Boondocks has been very well spent.

Just check 'Take Your Medicine', which pulls off the trick of being "in your face" but laidback all at once, 'No Chance In Hell' which shakes a mean tambourine and mainlines that beautiful Blues stutter, segueing amazingly into a Country air with slide in the middle, or a creaky, wheezing Funk synth and massive beat, Mothers Finest at their... finest.

Reminiscent also of Wolfmother when they opened out and pulled in more influences on 'Cosmic Egg', 'White Bird (Bring Your Armies Against Me)' even throws in some really Soulful vocals, echoing round a huge construct with bass running around the walls and guitars squealing.

They even have a go at Pop goodness and heaving, chunky attack and pull it all off, whilst 'If It Ain't Broke' closes everything with a loping grace, like a puma with a Strat. Tim Henwood's voice is fine and flavoursome, Leigh Maden and Matthew Harrison's solos are fun and fiery; the band are just a treat from start to finish.

This Palace has impressive rugs and a roaring fire; make yourself comfortable.
