Seriously, track them down so you can tell your kids you were there at the beginning.

Blurred Vision is a three-piece Progressive/Psychedelic/Pop Rock outfit comprised of guitarist & vocalist Sepp Osley, bassist Sohl Osley and drummer Ben Riley, oddly put forward as a Canadian band even though the Osley brothers are from Persia (remember this, it's relevant later). There are several young bands utilising the Psychedelia of the seventies but it is much harder to tap into the Prog vein, BV manage it with panache.

Opener 'No More War' is a Funky foot tapper that shows its influences well, 'Rollin' On' invokes the spirit of joss sticks, Mucha posters and batik wall hangings so well does it hit the Prog vibe. 'Tonight' is a more traditional "crescendo reaching" ballad notable for the rather fine runs from Riley. 'Long May You Run' could be from the cutting room floor of the 'Dark Side Of The Moon' studio. 'Promise' changes tempo and style to a more 1980's feel. Make no mistake this is a pub sized band that make a stadium sized noise, if you find them in your local they are going to blow you away.

'Dear John' twists back to the 1960s; it's a light airy song, sweet in its simplicity. 'Arms Of Our World' is soft and lilting and Sepp Osley's guitar solo entwines its way round your mind like oil in a lava lamp. We revisit the late 1960s with 'All I Wanted', made authentic with some gorgeous Theremin. 'Wherever You Are' is another with a 1980's influence, it motors along with soaring choruses and an open road ahead of it.

Now, I told you to remember the Osley brothers are from Persia didn't I? You need to know this as it explains my favourite track on the album 'The Keeper'. The Middle Eastern influence runs through the heart of the song, this is the sun setting on a Bazaar, redolent of spices and the scent of coffee. For me this song is a little more Rush than Pink Floyd, it is an epic and will surely become a staple of their live set. They finish up with title track 'Organized Insanity' where the album goes out with a Floydian bang.

Blurred Vision have a lot of influences but somehow they have brought them up to date and given it a 21st Century twist. It's a great debut album and if Floyd, Yes and Rush are your kinda thing you'll love this. Personally I'd like to see more of the Persian influence as I think that's their true voice and what will set them apart. Seriously, track them down so you can tell your kids you were there at the beginning.
