This is the type of album that you can just enjoy straight from the first listen.

Australian singer/song-writer Lex Koritni and his gang of antipodean merry men return with their fourth studio release and their first since 2012's 'Welcome To The Crossroads'. It's produced by Koritni, but having Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin) at the helm to mix virtually guarantees excellent sound quality.

Throughout the album, the twelve tracks flit between full-on riff-driven Rockers that more than tip a hat to AC/DC (something that is surely in the DNA of many an Australian Rocker) and more commercial-sounding melodic anthems, along with a couple of classy, heartfelt ballads.

Of the former, 'Horns Up' kicks things off in fine AC/DC style with some great guitar interplay from Eddy Santacreu and Luke Cuerden, the fiery 'Seal The Deal' is the album's highest tempo number, 'Night Goes On For Days' somehow bears a resemblance to classic Gotthard, while 'Rock 'N' Roll Ain't No Crime' and 'Waking Up The Neighbours' include spoken-word interludes that reveal Koritni's decidedly Aussie sense of humour – they won't be to everybody's tastes but definitely throw something quirky and unusual into the mix.

Of the melodic numbers, 'Try To Live (A Little Bit)' would be an obvious choice for a single with its Bluesy/Southern hints, 'Breakdown' revolves around a grooving riff and Funky bass line, while 'Carousel' and the one/two of 'The Mississippi Delta'/'Water Of Life' prove that you can put the electric guitars away in favour of acoustic and still deliver an up-tempo Rock anthem without losing any power in the delivery – very classy indeed.

As for the ballads, the acoustic guitars take centre stage again on the stylish, Blues-tinted 'Woman In Love' and 'Little Man', the latter's lyrics reflective of the fate that befalls many small towns in the current day and age.

The only blip is the tagged-on live cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's 'Fortunate Son' as the sound quality is nowhere near as good as the rest of the album and in truth it adds nothing to it overall.

That misdemeanour aside, this is the type of album that you can just enjoy straight from the first listen, and that's good
enough for me.
