They have created something that is different and veers ever so slightly from the norm. I know I love it.

After playing the debut Seek Irony album I found myself searching for a new musical genre (still within the Rock spectrum of course) and finally settled on Rave Rock, though Techno Metal was also in the running at one point. This new five-piece originate from Tel Aviv but in recent years have re-located to Austin, Texas. On 'Tech 'N' Roll' they have taken a Modern Rock blueprint and tweaked it to create a style of their own, with each song being embellished by a computerised Industrial undercurrent that never proves to be overbearing but more of an enhancement to the overall sound.

As soon as opening track 'She' came blasting through the speakers I knew I was listening to something I would like. Every song on 'Tech...' has energy to burn and it is left to the moody atmospherics of closing 'Head Above The Water' to fly the "ballad" flag. 'When You Lie' and 'Low' (great mid-song breakdown) are Electric Boys Funky and the programmed loops and samples along with the scratching add dynamic elements to the music without detracting from the highly commercial melodies.

If arranged slightly differently 'Devil In Me' and 'Skin 2 Skin' would be chart-worthy and, even in its current state, the structure and tempo of 'Running Towards The Edge Of The World' is pure Pop with a hint of aggression. Once or twice I was reminded of the Sunshine Jive (anyone remember them?) album from 1999 and though there is a hint of quirkiness surrounding one or two tracks (and this approach may be a bit distracting for some) I found it to be refreshingly infectious. 'Rave-O-lution' and 'Tragically Driven' blend The Prodigy style Dance phrases with crunching riffs to great effect and manage to sound original even though references prove unavoidable.

Kfir Gov (vocals), Rom Gov (drums), Alex "Sasha" Campbell (guitar), Adam Donovan (bass) and Mikael Oganes (piano, keys, DJ) have created something, though essentially Rock music, that is different and veers ever so slightly from the norm. I know I love it.
