Very Kill It Kid with great Classic Rock chops, the Delta Saints are close to perfect.

If it keeps on raining, yes, that levee will indeed break. The Delta Saints, resident in that melting pot of musical sounds Nashville, might just be the sound after the water has carried all before it and bleached the landscape. They have influences of The Black Keys (of course), The White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, My Morning Jacket and Band Of Horses; unusually, you can hear all those influences on this second full-release.

Yes. That is true. There is a Blues Du Jour dirty, Noir, bubbling Gumbo feel to this music. But get this. There is much more than that here. TDS have realised that it is no good to bang like a tavern door when the fleet's in, this is about groove too.

And so, the wonderful great rolling vibe of 'Heavy Hammer' with Rival Sons hip shaking chorus really makes you move and the shuffling Jack White Gumbo Blues of 'Zydeco' is so beautifully cool you will want to kiss it. They also know when to strap on a six-stringer and fire off some Wolfmother 1960's Psyche sang froid. This is 'Soft Spoken' and they do it with a sassiness linked to a mournful piano and rigid riffing; 'Into The Morning' has a driving, 1970's vibe with the woosiness of whirling round in a frenzy; abandon but with care.

There of course is that Atmos Blues if you really want it; 'Bones' has muddy percussion and a piping organ, 'Dust' shows some handclaps and authentic Gospel Blues attempt, before a hollering RS and piano/organ interplay take it somewhere so much better.

Ben Ringel's pipes would delight a congregation, Nate Kremer and Dylan Fitch's solos would tickle Scott Holliday, the band could thrill the general populace. Very Kill It Kid with great Classic Rock chops, the Delta Saints are close to perfect. Call the pastor, these saints need to be canonised.
