One of the strongest albums of 2015.

In my review of their first album ('Internal Affairs') in issue #54* I stated – "in truth for this review all I would have to do is write down the bands that The Night Flight Orchestra sound like and leave it at that, those being Kiss, Boston, Styx, The Eagles, Thin Lizzy etc". And that could easily be the review all over again but that would be a huge injustice to TNFO.

Once again this retro Hard Rock band made up of members of Soilwork and Mean Streak have recorded one of the strongest albums of 2015 and it's also an album that takes you straight back to those heady days of 1970's and 1980's Rock, which is the era of music we all nostalgically hanker for. You remember those days, the ones when you first discovered and fell in love with Rock music.

To be honest my favourites on this release have changed each time I've played the album, but for your delectation I would certainly suggest giving a listen to 'Living For The Nightmare' with its almost Disco feel and the captivating 'Stiletto' which has one of the catchiest choruses I've heard this year – "please don't take off your stilettos, they never tell me lies" – which (believe me) is truly infectious once you hear it.

I would also recommend the stunning Kiss-tastic duo that are 'Lady Jade' and 'I Ain't Old, I Ain't Young', the Roy Wood Wizzard sounding 'Roads Less Traveled', the ten minute Santana workout entitled 'The Heather Reports' and finally the Rocking 'Floridian Eyes' (the digi-pack bonus track). After you have listened to these songs, you'll start to wonder why your face hurts so much. The simple answer to the question will be because of that big, stupid grin splitting your face, the one that this band have a habit of giving you when you play their music.

Also just being labelled a retro act isn't enough for The Night Flight Orchestra because not only does the production of the album have that rich, warm resonant 1970's feel to it, the actual disc itself, has been made to look like a vinyl record, which shows just how much this band believe in what they are doing.

If you like Classic Rock or just a big fan of great sounding music then its simple, take a hammer to the piggy bank once again and get yourself a copy of this superb release as soon as you possibly can.
