Ten songs, just like an album of old that never overstays its welcome, pumped full of big riffs and even bigger hooks.

While the band name may not win any great prizes for originality, at least it gives some indication that Electric Guitars aren't going to be a Folk trio or Hip-Hop act. Indeed, their name on the label sums up exactly what is in the tin; electric guitars played loud and proud.

'Rock 'N' Roll Radio' is the third release from Electric Guitars, the brain child of current Glenn Hughes guitarist Søren Andersen and fellow guitarist Mika Vandborg, joined this time by Jacob and Jesper Binzer from D.A.D., alongside bassist Peter Kjøbsted and Morten Hellborn, and what a mighty fine noise they make.

'Rock 'N' Roll Radio', the song, is a clarion call we can all identify with and if this was an election then they have my vote. A shout from the roof tops for more of the music we love on the airwaves; who could possibly argue with that sentiment? What follows are a further nine songs of the very music that we should hear twiddling the dials on our radios, rather than the bland, repetitive homogenised boy-band tripe that gets served up day-in-day-out over here.

'False Flag Operation', with its AC/DC meets The Cult foot-to-the-floor riffage and insane hook, or the cowbell clankathon of 'Headless Chicken', with its greasy riff that'd do The Almighty or even Zodiac Mindwarp proud, are just the type of tunes that we crave to hear. They also throw in a curveball in the shape of the Black Sabbath-like Doom of 'Swagman', which teases those of a heavier disposition, while the delicious 'Lucy Glow' blends old-school with new in a Queens Of The Stone Age crashing headlong into Night Ranger type of way. It's modern, it's contemporary and it's ever so catchy.

Ten songs, just like an album of old that never overstays its welcome, pumped full of big riffs and even bigger hooks. It's the perfect soundtrack for the car and nigh on impossible to envisage every single reader of this magazine and website failing to fall in love with this hugely enjoyable Rock 'n' Roll romp.
