It's a great concert, filmed beautifully and if you haven't already picked up a copy there's really no excuse for not doing so now.
If the title seems familiar to you, it's because this was originally released in 2009, the same year it was filmed. The concert itself was a pretty big occasion as Journey's new singer Arnel Pineda was not only on his first tour but also in his Philippine home town in front of a sold-out audience. No pressure, then...
The set-list is pretty predictable but that's not necessarily a criticism. What's nice is the fact they open with the stand out track from the 2008 'Revelations' album ('Never Walk Away') and throw in a few more new tracks within the superb twenty-five track set-list. Elsewhere, it's business as usual and if it's a Journey classic you can bet it's in here, although the blanking of the 'Raised On Radio' album is a glaring omission.
The big question at the time was if this young(ish) new guy could carry it off and it must have been a huge relief to see him nail it, although his vocals are a bit scratchy at times – probably through sheer terror and excitement.
The incentive to get this again (if you already have it, that is) is the fact that it now comes on Blu-ray for the first time outside North America and that you can also get the concert audio on a double CD for the first time anywhere. It's a great concert, filmed beautifully and if you haven't already picked up a copy there's really no excuse for not doing so now.
