Originated, created and performed by a great American guitarist.

This multi-talented and multi-faceted musician is at it again, this time giving us an Electric Blues-infused Rock album that is simply a slice of musical heaven! Heavy? Yes, but not burdensome. Hard? Yes, but with loads of melodic and soulful expressions sharpened to a razor's edge!

Best known for his work with Hydrogyn, Westlake now shows us a whole different side of himself with this solo outing, one that perhaps we may have felt he had if we have followed his work with Hydrogyn closely. Not only is 'In The Key Of Blue' a solo record, but Westlake has also taken on all the vocal duties as well!
The title cut really shows us his power as a vocalist – nicely done indeed! Throughout this solo recording, one will hear a growing confidence in Westlake's vocal style as he exercises his new-found instrument.

'...Blue' says it all about this collection. Westlake has assembled nine pieces of Rocked-up Blues, complete with his signature guitar sound, now combined with what I think could become his first love – the Electric Blues. A great romp through an original and pure musical genre! He also explores some of the Jazz hemisphere as well, building each excursion with musical emotion. With such song titles like 'Heart To Burn', 'Who Gets Voodooed' and 'Queen Of Sorrow', one best get set for an emotional musical ride that will mesmerise and inspire!

Jeff Westlake reminds me of another great Blues Rock guitarist – Richie Kotzen. Both seem to make their own path and neither is afraid to explore vast musical plateaus and present us with surprising expressions that border on genius.

'In The Key Of Blue' – originated, created and performed by a great American guitarist!
