Put simply, this is one of the greatest albums ever released in this genre of music.

Modern Rock band No Sleep For Lucy has been something of an enigma. The odd song released here and there, but no album and not even an EP. There had been palpable excitement about the Swedish band that had been building since the release of 'Going Down' and 'Feel Alive' back in 2013, but then largely a blank that many saw as the death knell for the band and any kind of album release. We did get 'Closure' – originally played and written by Angels Fall – in the apparent hiatus but the hype seemed to have evaporated... until now.

Put simply, this is one of the greatest albums ever released in this genre of music. From start to finish it has absolutely everything that you could wish for; great songs, killer choruses, stellar musicianship and a pin sharp production. Every one of the tracks has radio potential and from the opening chords of the bouncy, Pop-orientated, synth heavy 'Moments' it's evident that there's something special going on here. Think 30 Seconds To Mars playing Pop Rock ala Lifehouse circa 'Smoke & Mirrors' and that's the territory we're in with songs like the epic and atmospheric 'Don't Let Go' (a co-write with Stevie Aiello the bassist with 30STM), 'Show Them Who We Are' and the title track.

The two aforementioned earlier songs are given a new lease of life, with the production handled by the band themselves and Henrik Edenhed's (Cee Lo Green, Dead By April) mix. Also to be found on this release are the likes of the Destine sounding 'Leaving Ground', 'Bleeding' – perhaps the album's heaviest track – and the glorious melody overload of 'Mistake'. Right up to the final moments of 'Final Call', there will be a realisation that there are no fillers here, no clunkers and no dip in quality. It's an album you'll want to play again, with a new favourite revealing itself after each repeat.

What makes this all the more remarkable is that this has been self-released and without the support of a label. This begs the question why are the labels prepared to pass up albums of this quality and instead sign anodyne bands or projects that are indistinguishable from one another? It's a travesty that a band so talented are without a label as this is just about as good as it gets in the Modern Pop Rock genre.
