A genuine rollercoaster ride full of emotion that's peppered with some of the most memorable guitar breaks you'll ever hear anywhere.

For a troubled kid from the mean streets of Belfast, the late, great Gary Moore certainly left an indelible mark on the world of guitar playing. From Rock to Blues and Jazz fusion, his unique tone and emotively-charged delivery made him one of the most respected and admired players in the world whilst he was alive. His untimely premature death in February 2011 ensured that the legend he created will live on forever.

Moore was always my "go-to" guitarist as a kid. The fact that I never got to interview him (none of the Rock mags were particularly interested in the Blues back then) is one of my biggest regrets. Like most people, I suppose my first exposure to his prodigious talents came via Thin Lizzy or his explosive early solo works – to this day 'Corridors Of Power' remains one of my favourite albums ever – but the journey back to embrace Colosseum II and Skid Row, and then his post eighties reconnection with the Blues (his first and lasting love) also brought their own rich rewards.

Released as a deluxe four disc box-set, with his official autobiography 'I Can't Wait Until Tomorrow', plus a bevy of reproduction fan memorabilia (there's also a vinyl version and slimmed down double disc version), 'Blues And Beyond' is the ultimate tribute to his Blues output. I know there are those who still resent him turning his back on Rock and Metal, but whatever the style, his playing was always off the charts (for me at any rate) and that's really what's most important at the end of the day.

Pulling together some of the finer moments of his recorded Blues back catalogue, and then throwing in two CD's worth of newly mixed and mastered live concert recordings (never previously available anywhere prior to this release) should be more than enough to tempt the rabid Gary Moore fan to part with the admittedly hefty purchase price. So, if you're still with me, just sit back, close your eyes and soak up the wonderment of 'Need Your Love So Bad', 'Picture Of The Moon', 'Cold Black Night', 'Power Of The Blues', 'World Of Confusion' et al ...

This is a genuine rollercoaster ride full of emotion that's peppered with some of the most memorable guitar breaks you'll ever hear anywhere! This truly is 'Blues And Beyond' indeed...
