The Dreaming - 'Puppet'
HotOriginal yet accessible in equal measure, a rarity in today's music climate.
After a disappointing debut album in 2008's 'Etched In Blood' , Christopher Hall's outfit return with a much classier follow up. With a sound encompassing a smorgasbord of different genres of music, including Glam, new wave, hard rock and inevitably the sound of Hall's ex band Stabbing Westward, The Dreaming has finally reached a high point in their recording career.
Adding American Headcharge guitarist Nick Quijano to the line-up has given the band extra thrust and Hall's songwriting has improved to such an extent that the songs all have a recognizable commercial quality. The highlights come thick and fast on a consistently classy offering, including the synth heavy hard rock of 'Breathing' or 'It'll End In Tears', the almost industrial 'Stitches' or 'Hole' and the guilty pop pleasure of 'Always and Never'.
Without no filler in sight 'Puppet' remains original yet accessible in equal measure, a rarity in today's music climate.
