Heaven's Basement - 'E.P.'

The CD, whilst excellent, in no way matches up to the sheer raw energy they have on stage.

For a band who have only released 2 EP’s in their short career as HB, this band seem to have amassed some absolutely stunning songs to release, managing to pick only 6 as yet another teaser to keep us begging for more.

By far, the most memorable of this selection is ‘Executioners Day’, which anyone who has seen the band on their many UK appearances this past year will remember, although ‘Tear Your Heart Out’ and ‘Reign On My Parade’ are worthy of any Motley Crue release with Richie Hevanz sounding like a significantly more talented Vince Neil. ‘Saint Routine’ with it’s almost ‘Highway to Hell’ ending and ‘Fear Of Getting Off’ are becoming the singalongs of the EP for me.

Heaven’s Basement have so much potential but – and it really is a miniscule ‘but’ – like a few other bands before them (Walk on Fire for instance), I feel that the CD, whilst excellent, in no way matches up to the sheer raw energy they have on stage. If they can capture just a little more of that (with the right production from the top notch producer they deserve), then they’ve well and truly cracked it!

A full album is on the cards for later in the year, so let’s hope that it’s more of the same. Anyone who is a lover of the aforementioned Motley Crue, Buckcherry, Poison or just enjoys kick ass rock n roll, this is a must have. Please check out the boy’s Myspace site at http://www.myspace.com/heavensbasementofficial where they are uploading new tracks all the time.
